In 2017, A group of riders comprising firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and some representatives of the major sponsors are returning to Wagga Wagga following our 2016 joint ride with Queensland Fire & Emergency Services which saw the ride raise $107,000 for the Burns Unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead by cycling over 1,000 kilometers from Sydney to Brisbane.

The 2017 Wagga Wagga to Westmead Ride Route will see riders travel 450+km’s over 4 days and is anticipated to be as follows:

The 2017 ride will run from Tuesday 28th March through to Friday 31st March and will consist of the following route;

Day 1: Wagga Wagga – Gundagai (83km 850m climb) Includes school visit and fundraising in town

Day 2: Gundagai – Goulburn (183km 2435m climb) Includes school visit and fundraising in Yass and possibly  Gunning

Day 3: Goulburn – Mittagong (82km 988m climb) Includes school visit

Day 4: Mittagong – Westmead (100km 580m climb) Includes school visit and finale at hospital.

The riders hope not only to raise money for the Burns Unit but also to raise fire prevention awareness to make our community safer. The ‘400 in 4’ is seeking support from the public and business community to raise as much as possible through tax deductible donations and sponsorship.

The ride concludes at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead on the final day at a heavily promoted event incorporating Sydney based media. Burns Unit and hospital patients as well as hospital and FRNSW senior management will be in attendance

The charity ride has raised over $571,000 in just 11 years & enjoys sponsorship from some large Australian corporations. Every dollar counts, so please Donate Now to this great cause; the Burns Unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
